Dr Emilia Onyema is a senior lecturer in International Commercial Law, and Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, at SOAS, University of London; a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Committee Member of the London branch; and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her teaching and research covers international sales law, law and development in Africa and international commercial arbitration. She was formerly a Research Fellow at the School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary University of London, and the Alternate Tribunal Secretary of the Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal in London. She is qualified to practice law in Nigeria and is (np) solicitor in England & Wales. She holds a PhD in international commercial arbitration and is widely published in this area. She is the author of the Chartered Institute’s workbook on Introduction to International Commercial Arbitration and International Commercial Arbitration and the Arbitrator’s Contract.
